Christopher Gonzalez of the Bronx was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of second-degree murder, rape and criminal sexual act for his role in the death of Angel Serbay in 2005 in Yonkers.

On Sept. 3, 2005, at approximately 8:18 a.m., the New York State Police were dispatched to the northbound side of the Sprain Brook Parkway, just north of the Jackson Road overpass, to investigate the discovery of human remains.

A passing motorist contacted police after he observed what appeared to be a body covered by a yellow tarp discarded on the side of the parkway.

The victim, later identified as Serbay, was discovered wearing jeans, a blue, white, and black striped halter top, and black New Balance sneakers. The Westchester County Medical Examiner determined that Serbay died as a result asphyxiation by strangulation.

The investigation was linked forensically to a homicide in the Bronx from 2000. DNA evidence eventually led investigators to Gonzalez, who was located in Florida in 2017 and returned to the Bronx, where he was indicted in the rape and strangulation death for the woman in the Bronx. That case is pending trial.
